We have been involved in timing events for NDuro Events from Rotorua for a number of years.  The ProChip system gives us the ability to time events in a number of different weather conditions as evidenced by the first two races of the Galaxy Travel Winter MTB Series.  The first race in June was wet underfoot and the timing points were on a sealed road, which was easy to set up using some protective carpet and concrete nails.  The second race in July was cold - a huge frost - but with all the timing points being in the middle of a paddock we could utilise the technique of burying the cables on the ground allowing competitors to easily pass over them with no issues of having to ride over elevated mats.  With the finish line being 10m in width, our timing points easily handle this.  And to help enhance the events this year we are using commentator screens for these events, giving the race director excellent information to welcome all their competitors home at the end of the race.
